On June 11th (local time), Apple announced that it will change the name of Apple ID to Apple Account in line with the OS update in the fall of 2024. The company said that it will “provide a consistent sign-in experience across Apple services and devices.” The name change will distinguish it from the biometric authentication “Touch ID” and “Face ID,” making it easier for users to understand.

In a news release, the company also revealed that “existing credentials will be used,” meaning no action or procedure will be required from users.
An account is a literal translation of an account, but it is used to identify and authenticate personal information when accessing a PC or various services on the Internet. An account is also information consisting of an ID and password, and Apple uses the same.
