Apple begins public beta distribution of next-generation OS including iOS 18printing

On July 15th (local time), Apple began distributing the public beta of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS 15, tvOS 18, and watchOS 11 through the Apple Beta Software Program, which is open to the general public.

To participate in the public beta test, you need to register for the Apple Beta Software Program on the Apple website using your Apple ID and agree to the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement, including the non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Please note that the public beta version prohibits sharing photos or videos of the screen (including screenshots) unless you receive special permission from Apple.

The public beta of iOS 18 can be installed on iPhone SE (2nd generation) and later models.

Please note that while the public beta versions of iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS can be rolled back to the official version, this is not possible for watchOS.

For iOS, on a compatible iPhone, go to Settings > Software Update > Beta Updates and select iOS 18 Public Beta. This will return you to the update screen, where you’ll see the option to install.

The public beta will allow you to try out many of the new features announced at WWDC　, including home screen customization, a revamped Control Center, and changes to lock screen controls .

However, “Apple Intelligence” is not yet available for trial. On Apple’s website , it says, “It will be available in beta later this year as part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPads and Macs with M1 or later. Siri and device language must be set to English (US).”

The next official version of Apple’s operating system is expected to be released this fall.
