Introducing some common smartphone mistakes

This failure story

I was sleeping soundly on silent mode and sleep mode on a holiday and completely ignored an emergency call from work.

By setting the Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone, you can turn off calls from contacts other than those you specify, and notifications from apps other than those you specify. When I’m working from home and want to take a quick nap, I often set an alarm on my smartphone and then set it to Do Not Disturb mode so I won’t be disturbed by notifications.

However, you will not receive any calls or notifications, so you will not notice any emergency calls or phone calls. You can customize the settings for Do Not Disturb mode from “Settings” → “Do Not Disturb Mode”. By default, notifications from all contacts and apps are turned off, but you can set it so that notifications from specific contacts are displayed. I would like to be able to sleep soundly on holidays, but if there are contacts that I cannot ignore, it is a good idea to set it here.

In the sleep mode settings, you can decide which contacts and apps you want to turn on notifications for (photo on the left). When the sleep mode is set, the screen will switch to a special wallpaper (photo on the right).
